Richard Yemm, Esq of the Wolfsdorf Law Group has written up a great article about immigration related apps that are hitting the Apple and Android app stores for your the iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Android devices. With the rise in popularity of smart phones and apps, the number of immigration related apps is expected to increase. Here are a few that Mr. Yemm discusses in his article that can be of use to many people:
Border Wait App is an app for Android that was developed by a personal friend of mine that gives users up-to-date border crossing times for Canadian borders and for Mexican borders returning to the U.S. Wait times can be sorted by different categories, including: Passenger; Commercial; and Pedestrian Wait Times. Border Time is a similar app for Apple devices.
Visa Procs is an app available in the Apple app store that provides users with the most recent visa bulletin and processing times for petitions and applications submitted to the USCIS.
There are numerous apps available that helps users prepare for their Naturalization U.S. Citizen Test. Some of these apps are: Immigration-Civics Study Guide for Android, USCIS Immigration Test Prep for Android, and U.S. Citizenship Test for Apple. These apps provide test questions to help users prepare for the U.S. Citizenship test for Naturalization, which tests American Civics.
The above are just a selection of the variety of immigration related apps available in the Apple and Android app stores. The total number of immigration related apps is expected to increase over the next few years. It is also probably only a matter of time before USCIS develops its own apps (maybe e-filings will be possible through apps in the future) .
