So far Obama has failed to deliver on one of his major campaign promises, immigration reform.
He is scheduled to deliver a speech on Tuesday in El Paso, Texas to address this issue. Hopefully his plans will unveil something promising, as so far he has refused to use his constitutionally granted executive power to initiate many needed reforms. While getting Congress on-board would be wonderful, this is probably not a realistic goal, as demonstrated by Congress’ refusal to even pass the DREAM Act.
This seems like as good a time as any to tackle this hotly contested issue, with his renewed popularity after finding Bin Laden.
Here is some information on what immigration reform Obama could do without Congress.
