Early on the morning of January 23rd Justin Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida and charged with driving with an expired license, resisting arrest without violence, and driving under the influence.  Later that day his bond was announced as $2,500 which he quickly posted and was released from detention.  While normally a traffic violation like the one Bieber committed would not be a grounds for removal from the United States, it is possible that immigration authorities could determine this a crime of moral turpitude when considered alongside his blood alcohol level at the time of the arrest and the recent case investigation into his alleged “egging” of a neighbor’s house.  It is also possible that his alleged “egging” of a neighbor’s house could see felony charges against him if evidence proves he was the perpetrator.   Either scenario would make Bieber eligible for removal from the United States.

Bieber is currently in the United States on an O-1 visa, granted to those having “extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics” according to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ website.
