Today marks the first day Chilean citizens may travel to the US without first obtaining a visa from the US Consulate.  Chile joins the other 38 countries whose nationals are able to take advantage of this much more convenient form of travel.  Citizens of Visa Waiver Program countries are allowed to complete the simple online form ESTA: found here, at any time before they embark on their journey. Just like having a visa however, the ESTA and VWP only give you permission to apply for entry into the US and there is still no guarantee you’ll get in if CBP suspects you of having nefarious purposes or a desire to remain in the US permanently. You can read more about the program here.
