Happy Canada Day!

Our neighbors to the North Celebrate their independence just 3 days before the USA on July 1st. Unlike the U.S. Canada acquired its sovereignty from Britain in a much more peaceful manner.

The majority of the provinces of Canada adopted the Seventy-Two Resolutions from the 1864 Quebec Conference and Charlottetown Conference which laid out the framework for uniting British colonies in North America into a federation. On July 1st, 1867 the Dominion (self-governing colony) of Canada was formed, henceforth known as Canada’s independence day.
