Heading into the Thanksgiving break it appears, the H-1B visa cap is just about met. There may just barely be time for a few last minute filings. USCIS recently announced that as of November 18th, they have received 61,800 applications for H-1B visas for the regular cap (the Master’s cap was already met).
Remember that up to 6,800 H-1B visas are set aside for nationals from Chile and Singapore because of our free-trade agreements, but the visas not used from previous years are added back in. In reality, I estimate that over 64,000 slots will be available to beneficiaries from other countries.
